About Pastor Doug
A “Tarheel” from the East Coast, Doug and his family moved here to Longview in 2009. He is married to Laura and has two children, Gracie age 6 and Daniel who is a new born. Doug comes to the west with a rich and diverse spiritual background.
A Graduate of Campbell University located south of Raleigh NC and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary located in Wake Forest NC. Doug has served in churches on staff and as senior pastor in Idaho, Virginia and in North Carolina In addition, Doug served as a professional staff chaplain at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg Virginia for several years. At that time, he also provided pastoral counseling to the community through a non profit counseling center. He has a certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Virginia Baptist School of Pastoral Care.
In addition to his religious connections, Doug also served as a Manager of Volunteers for the Lynchburg Chapter of Habitat for Humanity for over 6 years helping to build over 60 homes and still maintains connections to other Habitat chapters.
Doug believes in partnership and service and is currently serving as a volunteer chaplain for the Cowlitz chaplaincy, a ministry to Police, Fire and public safety in Cowlitz County and is current vice president for the Kelso/Longview Ministerial Alliance.
Doug and his family are excited to be in Longview and have settled on Beulah Hill, which is near Westside Highway and have a vision and heart for seeing the “hills” and areas of Northeast Kelso and Northern Longview impacted with the Gospel. Doug believes in living lives that “point people to Christ” and is working to encourage people to see out “the way of Christ” in their daily lives.
